Back with our regular meetings on a more regular basis, or so we hope.

A couple guys from Zeitgeist Portugal popped up to hear about our project.

V* and Gil also showed up to do some personal projects.

Me, i was trying to get some sound to upgrade our Discardable Beauty. And figure out something cool to show off at Kanpai Coimbra next week.

Then, suddenly, a couple of appearances has forced us to establish this very day the xDA diocesis of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

A Audiência Zero convida todos os interessados a submeterem propostas e/ou sugestões de actividades para o último trimestre do ano. Pretende-se, desta forma, alargar o leque de iniciativas desenvolvidas pela associação, integrar novas àreas e colaboradores, assim como aproximar o plano de actividades das necessidades sentidas pelo o público e pelos associados. O período de apresentação de propostas para os meses de Outubro, Novembro e Dezembro encontra-se aberto até dia 31 de Julho.

AZ Labs Exhibition @ O Espaço do Tempo

Exhibition: Monday to Friday – 6pm / 11pm | Saturday and Sunday – 4pm /11pm
Opening: 12th of July, 18h00

This exhibition presents the results of a unique experiment. For 17 days, 30 members of the Audiencia Zero Labs from all over the country and also abroad lived and worked together on collective projects. New teams were formed, infinite ideas proposed, new tools and technologies experimented with, incredible adventures lived and new friends made. The projects at this exhibit are just the tip of the veil, the true impact of this experience is yet to come.

AZ Residency – Computer Vision awesomeness

This weekend was wild on computer vision related stuff. Did some 3D scanning with Mónica Mendes using a well known vision technique called structured light. Pretty impressive results

“Structured light is the process of projecting a known pattern of pixels (often grids or horizontal bars) on to a scene. The way that these deform when striking surfaces allows vision systems to calculate the depth and surface information of the objects in the scene, as used in structured light 3D scanners.” — Wikipedia

Also, me, Catarina Mota and Joel Belouet worked on a pan-tilt mount for the PS3Eye camera on OpenScad. We’ll get the design out once we get it really polished, and post it to Thingiverse too. Once we do that you’ll be able to print it (on a 3D printed like our Makerbot) and have your own pan and tilt mount for your awesome computer vision app

Para celebrar o dia da cidade de Coimbra a Galeria Icone está a organizar o festival SITU’ARTE no pátio da inquisição. O xDA está à ajudar com projecções interactivas, um demoshow e possivelmente uma banquinha dedicada ao netaudio, portantos marquem na agenda e apareçam!

There have been meetings and demoparties put together in the past, but none other is quite like inérciaDemoparty2005. In case you missed it this year again we have a little video for you to check out the gamedev show and tell, demo competition and generic digital art mischief:
